Where technology innovation creates business
Partnerships
Clean Tech Delta
Delft University of Technology and Erasmus University rank among the world’s top players in these disciplines. All parties are eager to combine and deploy their expertise and innovative power in sustainable energy and mobility in order to promote vibrant and healthy urban environments and reinforce the economy. Thanks to this approach, the region has the potential to develop into one of the international leaders in sustainable economy: the Clean Tech Delta of Europe.
Within this context Science Port Holland NV acts as facilitator, notably by offering an attractive and inspiring infrastructure at locations to be developed alone or in partnership. More specifically, Science Port Holland NV will take responsibility for global marketing, acquisition and promotion. To this end, close cooperation will be sought with the parties who are involved in the newly formed public-private partnership in Clean Tech Delta, which was created to combine and synergize the available regional expertise and innovative power in order to deliver results. The partners are corporations (SHELL, DSM, EON, Deltares, Port of Rotterdam), knowledge institutions (Erasmus University and Delft University of Technology), institutes (TNO, UNESCO IHE) and government agencies (Stadshavens Rotterdam, City of Delft and Province of South Holland).
Science Port Holland NV will take responsibility for the marketing, acquisition and promotion on international forums by devoting attention to the projected research programmes, the valorization infrastructure, the incubator facilities and the planned projects.
KIC Climate
Via its marketing and acquisition policy, Science Port Holland NV wants to reinforce the global reputation that Delft already enjoys. The participation of Delft University of Technology and Stadshavens Rotterdam in KIC Climate is of eminent importance for this international project. Within international climate initiatives, Bio-Based Economy and Water are already areas led by Dutch universities, with Delft University of Technology playing a prominent role, in close cooperation with Utrecht University and Wageningen University.
It is only logical that alongside its renowned University of Technology, Delft also accommodates companies and knowledge institutes which make an important contribution to the existing base of expertise. These include such parties as Deltares, TNO (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research) and the Midden Delfland Water Board, with whom Science Port Holland NV will cooperate.
